Information needed ASAP! My turkeys arrived today, but there is one problem. I am getting conflicting stories on if I can feed them the same medicated chick starter I have my chicks on. The guy at the feed store had no turkey starter and I have called around and can't find any. Is there a different feed??? If you have raised turkeys or know someone that has please leave me the info. They are doing good right now, but I don't want to make them sick. If everything works out pics will follow. Thanks!
I have never fed mine that. I was told it gives them diareah but I doubt itvwould kill them. I have always fed mine 22 percent game feed. That is what I was told to feed them. good luck with them.

Sorry my knowledge of turkeys only involves BBQing and Deep Frying. But I think that’s great you got some real turkeys on the farm now. ROFL.

My ducks and geese that can't have medicated feed get just cracked corn. Hope they do well.

Amy, Jim & Teresa, Thanks for getting back with me. I called McMurray hatchery and they told me it would be fine to feed them chick starter until I could find the turkey starter or the game feed. All 6 are fine as of now, actually quite active which I hope is a good sign. I was also told to put 1-3 tblespoons of sugar in their water for the first couple of days. I think they are on a sugar buzz. Thanks for your feedback.
