I can't believe it has been so long since I last posted. When we finished hay we took a trip out of state for 2 weeks to see my mom. When I got back you could just imagine the work I had waiting on me. I have been mowing grass, cleaning flower beds, working in the garden then canning season hit. I have also been working parttime at the greenhouse for Janet and also for a friend of mine who owns a contracting company doing some prep work on painting. It seems like I am always going out the door at daylight and coming back in after dark.
It's hard to believe I am taking a few of my calves off next week. I am going to try to get some updated pictures, camera got broke on vacation. The girls will be starting volleyball practice next week and then school starts a few days after that.
I still have all of my animals and ended up having 4 turkeys, 1 gobler and 3 hens. I can't believe summer is almost over! But I am ready for a snow day. HAHAHA
Hope all has been well with everyone, sorry I haven't visited. I still live in the land of dial up and it takes FOREVER to just get signed on. I Hope things slow down around here so I can get caught up. At least I know I will have some good stories to read about this winter.
I'm glad to hear you are still alive! (By the way, I have a new URL)

Had to laugh about you wanting a snow day!!!! I am on board with that statement. Come on snow! Today it is 104! With thunderstorms due to arrive later which means lightning strikes. :(
It seems that school and volleyball just got over with and here it is that time already.
Looking forward to seeing pics.
Glad to hear other than being over the top busy you are doing good.

Kathy, I just wanted to write and tell you how much I Love your Blog!! I look forward to reading it everyday! It is my relaxing time, your pictures are wonderful! My family and I live in Moses Lake Washington, we have 20 acres, we have a little mini farm, 4 horses, 1 red angus steer, that is 16 months old now, 20 or so assorted chickens, hens and roosters, 2 rabbits, 4 cats, 5 dogs and our newest addition is 3 new baby calves, they are dairy breeds and we are bottle feeding. Two are twins, a girl and a boy. We are raising them for meat. If the girl isn't steral we may keep her and breed her. We have been thinking that we wanted to get into Angus, but after reading your blog, I told my husband, we should try Herefords, they are a sweet bread. Reading your blog really inspires me, thanks so much!

Becky, Thanks for following along. I have been slacking on keeping up with my blog, but I am usually out doors when the sun is shining and it has been so busy around here I have hardly had time to post. Fall is coming and things are slowing down a little so maybe I will get caught back up. I took some calves in to slaughter today and the guy unloading who I have never met but has been around every kind of cow you can imagine said, "Finally some cows with some sense." I asked him if he was a "Hereford" man. He said if you wanted to raise cows for enjoying them get herefords, if you want them for money get black ones. If you are wanting to get into them for the money, get a black bull and hereford cows. They will throw black calves w/white faces, called "baldies." They have the right color and are easy to handle. I will do my best to try to get caught back up. Sometimes I wonder if anyone does read my blog, so it's nice to hear from someone new.Keep in touch!
